In facial surgery we seek to return, to their original position, the structures that over time descend and make the person see aging, additionally we remove the excess existing skin and we can return the lost volume by lipotransfer. The face and neck are treated and it is very important that it is performed by an experienced Plastic Surgeon.

When the sagging of the skin of the face and neck produces that appearance of old age that most people reject, it is possible to improve it significantly by performing what we call a facelift.

The facelift is a procedure that plastic surgeons perform to tighten and readapt the skin on the face and neck of our patients. It is a surgery that lasts from 4 to 6 hours and can be performed with local anesthesia plus sedation or with general anesthesia, depending on the individual conditions of each patient.

The Facelift is performed through incisions in front, behind and above each ear, where the skin and fat are slowly separated from the deeper structures, leaving underneath a layer called the Superficial Muscle Aponeurotic System (SMAS).

The sagging and sagging of the SMAS is the main cause of the aged appearance of the middle and lower third of the face as well as the neck. Once the previous step has been carried out, the SMAS is lifted using surgical sutures that reposition the fallen areas. Subsequently, the excess skin is cut and the wounds are closed.

Recovery from this procedure is between 10 and 14 days, during which we advise our patients to avoid sun exposure.
