RHINOPLASTY
OR NOSE SURGERY
The nose is a fundamental part of the harmony of our face. When a patient is not comfortable with their nose, they can have significant self-esteem problems. Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that can solve this problem and thus contribute to the quality of life and happiness of our patients. It must be performed by a Certified Plastic Surgeon.
With a rhinoplasty we can enlarge or reduce the size of the nose, as well as change the shape of the tip and the bridge.
The process to perform a Rhinoplasty consists of the following steps:
• General anesthesia
• The Incision: During nose surgery, the incisions (cuts) we make depending on the type of procedure, which can be open or closed. In the first one we make an incision through the columella (column that separates the two nostrils) and in the closed one we hide the incisions inside the nose. Through the incisions we lift the soft tissues that cover the nose, in order to open the access to reform its structure.
• Structuring process of the nose: we can reduce or increase the nasal structures with cartilage taken from other areas of the body, such as the septum, the ear or cartilage of the
• Closing the incision: Once we have sculpted the underlying structure of the nose, we put the skin and nasal tissue back in place and close the incisions.
Results: After 2 to 3 months, it is possible to observe results close to the definitive ones, which can be obtained after one year of rhinoplasty.
